The exceptional artistry of Japanese guitarist Sohta Nakabayashi is demonstrated by his achievement of more than fourteen first prizes in international competitions, including International Guitar Competition “Ida Presti” (Croatia), Juventudes Musicales de España Competition (Spain), the Miguel Llobet Competition (Spain), Texas Internacional Guitar Competition (United States), the Uppsala International Guitar Festival Competition (Sweden), and the East End Guitar Competition (Japan). He was also a finalist in the 58th Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition. In addition, he has received numerous Audience Awards, reflecting his remarkable ability to convey emotion through music. He has been invited to perform concerts, give masterclasses, and serve as a jury member in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the United States, and Japan. He has presented more than fifty solo recitals at prestigious venues such as the Musikverein Wien (Austria), Uppsala Konsert & Kongress (Sweden), the Texas Guitar Festival (USA), and the renowned Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall (Japan), where he performed before an audience of over 1,400 listeners. He is also actively engaged in chamber music. Together with cellist Eva Arderíus, he recorded the CD “Luz de Canto,” featuring songs by Manuel de Falla and Federico García Lorca. Furthermore, he collaborates as a guitarist with Antonio Najarro’s Spanish Dance Company and Les Ballets Espagnols de La Argentina, currently accompanying their performances at distinguished venues and institutions such as the Juan March Foundation, the Teatro de la Zarzuela, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, the Teatro de la Maestranza, the Auditorio de Tenerife, and the Granada International Festival of Music and Dance.
